Episode 2: Priscilla Phillips
In this episode, we discuss the case of Priscilla Phillips, the first criminal court case to consider Munchausen by Proxy in 1979. Which came only 2 years after a British peditrician coined the disorder's name in medical journal, The Lancet.
In 1975 Priscilla Phillips and her husband adopted a baby girl from Korea to join their family along with their 2 biological sons. This child died 2 years later.... Then in 1979 the adopted ANOTHER baby girl from Korea, once again this child began experiencing the same mysterious illnesses. Doctors suspected she was poisoning both babies. Once they tested the baby formula Phillips was feeding this child, they found the sodium content as 30x the normal level. Phillips had added baking soda to the formula.
Priscilla was convicted in 1979 of killing her first adopted daughter and endangering the life of the second.
She only served 4 years in prison.
Episode 3: Mary Beth Tining
In this episode, we explore the murderous rampage of Mary Beth Tinning upon 9 of her children from 1967 to 1985!
According to Rolling Stone, Tinning gave birth to 9 children who all died shortly after their births, at the hands of their Mother.
Supposedly only one of the children, daughter Jennifer died of natural causes, at only 8 days old. All her other siblings however would not live past 4 years old.
MaryBeth would frantically bring the babies to the emergency room for symptoms of seizures or cardiac arrest near their home in Schenectady, New York. Local town talk suspected a family death gene... doctors believed the children's deaths were due to a rampant string of SIDS-related deaths.
Only after the death of their youngest child Tami Lynne was MaryBeth finally charged with 2nd degree murder and sentenced to 20 years to Life in prison.
MaryBeth remains in prison.
Episode 4: Kathy Bush
In this episode, we talk about Kathy Bush, South Florida Mom who intentionally made her daughter Jennifer sick by overdosing her with medicine as well infecting her in 1995.
Kathy would poison Jennifer when she was 8 years old, take her to the emergency room, get her admitted, had unnecessary procedures done and over 1800 non surgical treatments!!
Jennifer spent over 640 days in the hospital and underwent 40 procedures.
Kathy Bush was eventually charged with aggravated child abuse, sentenced to only 5 years in prison.
To this day, she still maintains her innocence.

In this episode, we discuss the twisted tale of Lacey Spears. This case received a lot of media coverage over the years.
Lacey Spears, poisoned and killed her beautiful 5 year old son Garrett by poisoning him with salt through his feeding tube.
Lacey created a popular blogger persona, focusing on the trials and tribulations of caring for a chroniclly ill child. Establishing many followers & supporters.
Unbeknownst to her faithful supporters she was dosing his feeding tube at home and inside the hospital with lethal levels of salt.
Episode 6: Lisa Hayden Johnson
In this episode, I will tell you about Lisa Hayden Johnson. Lisa had disturbing behavior of publicly bringing so much attention to her son's medical issues. The Daily Mail reported Hayden Johnson, "claimed he suffered from illnesses including diabetes, food allergies, cerebral palsy, cystic fibrosis and an intolerance to sunlight". The boy was subjected to over 325 medical procedures, some allegedly done in-home.
Lisa would publicize her son's alleged illnesses in exchange for access to high-profile events, like attending X Factor tapings and meeting former Prime Minister Tony Blair.
She is currently serving time in prison for her crimes against her son.

Blanca Montano was sentenced in 2013 to 13 years in prison for cruel & disturbing crimes and subsequent death of her infant daughter.
Blanca's case of Munchausen by Proxy is especially hard to discuss.
She was charged with child abuse when her baby girl was diagnosed with 9 separated and aggravated infections while admitted to the hospital. The baby was suffering from flu-luke symptoms in Feb, 2011, Shockingly it was discovered Blanca had infected her baby with fecal matter and other bacterias. All while a patient in the hospital.

This is the truly bizzare case of Leslie Wilfred.
Leslie faked a pregnancy with twins & of their supposed deaths in 2008, She alleged her twins were born premature at 5 months, took one breath before passing away,
Leslie insisted the baby twins be cremated and buried in teddy bear shaped urns. Shockingly it was discovered the babies never existed, there had never been a pregnancy, she stole someone else's ultrsound and the buried urns were.... empty.
In addition to faking the pregnancy & death of the twins, she was also charged with making her other children extremely sick for years. She pled to several counts of child cruelty and was sentenced to 8 years in prison with 30 years probation.

This is a double header episode. Hope Ybarra's story involves both forms of Munchausen's. She inflicted injury upon herself for years and false claims of having leukemia. She also infected her daughter with pathogens via nasal spray to alter test results for Cystic Fibrosis. She also drained her daughter's blood little by little with a syringe.
Ybarra served X years in prison and was released on parole in 2019, ??
